Requirements for the authors of the journals of the National academy of sciences of the Republic Kazakhstan ARTICLES REVIEW

Dear authors!

     In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 205 of March 1, 2016 "On approval of the State Program for the Development of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2016-2019" (hereinafter referred to as the Program), the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the rules and requirements for articles published in the journals of the NAS of the RK (Decrees of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 27 dated September 22, 2017).

     In pursuance of the goals and objectives of the Program, the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan is working on the inclusion of NAS journals in the databases of Scopus and Clarivate Analitics (Thomson Reuters). Currently, the journals of NAS RK pass the examination stage by the Advisory Commission (CSAB) Scopus and Clarivate Analitics.

     In this regard, from January 1, 2018, all articles for publication are accepted in Kazakh or Russian languages with the translation of the entire article into English. Articles without English version will be rejected.

     Also, considering the requirements of the Advisory Commission (CSAB) Scopus on the internationalization of authors and audiences, the editorial board of journals recommends publishing articles in co-authorship with foreign scientists.

     The journal publish scientific articles and research paper also express messages about the results of research in various fields of natural and technical and social sciences.

     The decision to publish is taken by the editorial board of the journal after the review, taking into account the scientific significance and relevance of the materials presented. Articles rejected by the editorial board are not accepted again and are not considered. Manuscripts that are not executed in accordance with the rules are returned to the authors without consideration.

     When submitting the manuscript to the editorial board, authors are recommended to indicate three potential reviewers (with a full name and e-mail address) from among specialists in this field of research.

     The manuscript is sent for review to a member of the editorial board and one of the mentioned reviewers; in disputable cases, at the discretion of the editorial board, additional reviewers are involved; on the basis of expert opinions, the editorial board determines the further fate of the manuscript: acceptance for publication in the form presented, the need for revision or rejection. If necessary, the manuscript is sent to the authors for revision on the comments of reviewers and editors, after which it is repeatedly reviewed, and the editorial board again decides whether the manuscript is acceptable for publication. The revised manuscript should be returned to the editor within a month after the authors receive the feedback; otherwise the manuscript is treated as newly received. The manuscript that received insufficiently high marks during review is rejected as not corresponding to the level or profile of the journal's publications.

     The authors are responsible for the reliability and significance of scientific results and the relevance of the scientific content of the work. Plagiarism is not allowed - deliberately committed by an individual illegal use of someone else's creative work, with bringing to others false information about himself as a valid author...

     The editorial board accepts the manuscripts in Kazakh, Russian and English languages sent by e-mail in the form of attached files (Aitbaev.doc) to the address of the editorial office This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . At all stages of work with manuscripts, as well as for communicating with authors, editors and reviewers, the editors use electronic postal communication, so authors should be very attentive to the e-mail address indicated in the manuscript and should notify in advance about the changes that have occurred.

     By sending  the article to the Editor means that the authors did not transmit the same material (in the original or translated into other languages or from other languages) to another journal (s) that this material was not previously published and will not be sent to print in another publication nor accepted for publication in another journal. If during the work on the manuscript it turns out that similar material (possibly under a different name and with a different author order) is sent to another journal, the article is immediately returned to the authors, the incident is reported to the magazine that accepted this material, with a recommendation to reject the article for violation of copyrights of the Editorial Board and the Publishing House.

     Material articles - the text, including abstracts in Kazakh, Russian and English, citations of literature, drawings, notes to pictures and tables, is made in one file; In addition, each picture is made in the form of a separate file. If the material being sent is large in volume, you should use programs for archiving. All pages of the manual, including tables, references, drawings and inscription to them, should be numbered.

     The submitted materials for publication must follow requirements as below:

     1. Contain the results of original scientific research on current problems in the fields of physics, mathematics, mechanics, computer science, biology, medicine, geology, chemistry, ecology, social and human sciences, previously unpublished and not intended for publication in other publications. The article is accompanied by a permission to publish from the institution in which the study is carried out.

     2. The size of the article is 7-10 pages (review articles are 15-20 pages), including an annotation at the beginning of the article before the main text that should reflect the purpose of the work, the method or methodology of the work, the results of the work, the scope of the results, conclusions (abstract not less than 20 sentences (150,300 words) - (in English) through 1 computer interval), tables, figures, bibliography (in 1 computer interval, font size 14), printed in the Word editor, Times New Roman, fields - upper and lower - 2 cm, left - 3 cm, right - 1.5 cm. The number of figures is 5-10.

     The structure must conform to the international IMRAD formula, where I is introduction, M is Methods, R is Results, A is, and D is conclusion + discussion (conclusion, discussion of results and conclusions).Title • Displays the essence of the work • Short • No abbreviations

     Accurate the spelling of surnames.

     It is necessary to formalize the name of the organization in English and the abbreviation.

     Summary • Structured • No abbreviations • Transmits the structure of the article - Why (topical) - What methods? - What is received - How it changed the picture of knowledge it is read first of all, only a good resume can attract attention!

     Introduction • Relevance of work • What is the task • Why

     Methods • Enumeration • If known - give a link • If modified - specify how • Describe so that they can repeat • Statistics!

     Results • Not chronological but logical narrative is allowed • Basic, not all that have been done • Illustrated by the minimum necessary summary data (the original can be in additional materials)

     Discussions • Do not repeat the results • Compare the findings with the available data • Discuss possible causes and consequences

     Functions of the list of references: • Argument idea • Compare with existing analogues • Mark the place of this research • Avoid plagiarism • for the journal and the scientist = recognition • Often only own works or very old ones are indicated (only 10-15% of the total list of references is allowed) • Nomadic errors

     Distinguish • References • References • Bibliography

     What can be cited • Books (monographs, chapters) • Articles of scientific journals • Conference proceedings • Patents • Dissertation • Unpublished data • Media • Web resources (protocols, web pages) the source must be reliable and easily accessible

Critical moments for correction of automatic index references

  • · Format (author is shown only once)
  • · Symbols // and ibid makes impossible automatic processing
  • · By Latin (Transcription not translation)
  • · Name of issues and abbreviation
  • · Correctness of links of references

     Example: NAUKOVETS

     In this word was written both Cyrillic (red) and Latin (black) letter. Robot cannot see the alphabetic mix .Please don’t forget to switch keyboard language.

     ARTICLE BEGINS in English. At the beginning, in the middle of the page, the title of the article is written in bold capital letters, the title of the article should be short and capacious, according to the analysis done about 30-40 characters in English.

     Next on the next line - the initials and names of the authors in bold, then on the next line - the name of the organization (s) in which the work was done, city, country, then on the new line - the e-mail addresses of the authors. From the red line there are keywords (Key words), and on the new line - the abstract itself (Abstract - not less than 150300 words).

     Then, after a single line is chopped off, it starts in Russian. At the beginning of the article at the top left you should indicate the UDC index, MRNTI.

     Then, in the middle of the page, is written: 1) the title of the article; 2) the authors; 3) the name of the organization; with a red line - Keywords, then - Abstract (design of fonts, as in English).

     Put off one line and the article begins. Following the article is a list of Literature. References to literary sources are given in figures in direct brackets as far as they are mentioned (at least 20).

     Since 2018, for each article is required DOI (Digital Object Identifier) - this is the digital identifier of the document. The DOI serves as a hyperlink, which always helps you find the document you need, even if the site where it was later changed. Thanks to this index, the search for scientific information on the Internet has become easier and more efficient. Each issue, the magazine posts on its web pages on the Internet, both current and archival numbers, and materials. Thus, in open access, you can see the summary, which include the title of the article, the name, patronymic name of the author, annotation and keywords, the place of work, as well as the output of published articles (journal title, year of publication, volume, number, and page). This necessary information allows you to instantly find the desired article under the normal structure of the publication site. In another way, it looks like searching by keywords, for example, in Google or in Yandex. There are a lot of unnecessary information and articles that are far from scientific periodicals. To avoid this, scientists use thematic databases. Due to the DOI index, the number of citations of published works increases. DOI helps to significantly reduce the loss of links. All this together allows us to understand why the world community no longer recognizes electronic articles that do not have a DOI index. Without it, the publication does not have sufficient stability on the Internet, is subject to change, even to the point of extinction. And this, in turn, negatively affects the citation index.

     The list of the literature is as follows:

     In links to books, ISBN (10- or 13-digit) is indicated. The names of only those journals that are specified are shortened:

     For all references to articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, DOI (Digital Object Identifier) should be specified. DOI are listed in the PDF version of the article and / or on the main article webpage, you can also use the CrossRef search engine:

     Below are the examples of the design of the files:

     Article in the international journal

     1 Campry TS, Anders T. (1987) SNAP receptors implicated in vesicle targeting and fusion, Environ Pollut, 43: 195-207. DOI: 10.1016 / 0269-7491 (87) 90156-4 (in Eng)

     On the site it is possible to use free of charge the program of transliteration of the Russian text into the Latin alphabet using various systems. The program is very simple; it is easy to use for ready-made links. For example, by choosing a version of the Library of Congress system (LC), we get an image of all the alphabetic correspondences. We insert in the special field the whole text of the bibliography in Russian and press the button "in translit". We translate the transliterated reference:

1) remove the transliteration of the title of the article;

2) remove special delimiters between fields ("//", "-");

3) italicize the name of the source;

4) mark the year in bold;

5) indicate the language of the article (in Russ.).

     At the end of the article, a summary is given in the Kazakh language. It is similar to the Russian version. In the middle of the page is written: 1) the title of the article; 2) the authors; 3) the name of the organization; with a red line – Kazakh abstract, after that – Russian abstract

The last page is signed by all authors, the date is put.

3. Articles are published in Russian, Kazakh, English.

4. In the case of the processing of an article at the request of the editorial board of the journal, the date of receipt is the date the editorial board receives the final version. If the article is rejected, the editorial board reserves the right not to conduct a discussion on the grounds for rejection.

     The request to authors of articles to present all the material in one document (one file) and to follow the Rules exactly when writing the article.

Useful Sources

Dear authors!

     At present, about 250 Kazakhstan universities and scientific organizations have access to information resources of authoritative international companies such as Clarivate Analitics and Springer. Over the past four years, the number of hits by Kazakh subscribers, according to statistics on the use of the Web of Science Core Collection, has increased fourfold. Access to the world's scientific knowledge bases was defined by President Nursultan Nazarbayev as one of the priority tools for the development of science at the First Scientists' Forum in December 2011.

     Publications of Kazakhstan scientists are included in 1% of the most highly cited articles in the world.

     When citing, rely on more modern data, your own works, if possible, specify in less quantity, use the search for information sources of international resources.

     References to literary sources are given in figures in direct brackets as far as they are mentioned (at least 20).

     EDITORIAL ETHICS - unwritten rules on which it is desirable to build a relationship between the editorial board (publishers) and the author for the sake of the success of the case. The most important of them:

      1) the inadmissibility of plagiarism, to preserve editorial secrecy, i.e., not to disclose without the consent of the author and before and after the publication of the book the laboratory of work on it in the publishing house (not discuss with dignity the merits and demerits of works, remarks and corrections in them, not to introduce the book with internal reviews), not to give the author's permission to read the book without the permission of the author. aut. original;

      2) respect the author and his work, trying to understand his intentions, demands and wishes, trying to creatively support him, and not to suppress his criticism, not dictate the author his conditions, and to negotiate with him, relying only on well-grounded comments, nor in any case, do not autonomously auth. the original;

     3) remember that not the mistakes of the author, noticed by the editors, determine the quality of the author works.
